Shop Hop and Quilt Blocks

Well, it's really July 14th, not the 6th. It's taken me a couple of weeks to get finished with this entry so I could post it...So here's some of what's been going on.
My youngest, her baby boy and I did the Wasatch Shop Hop a few weeks ago. We had 4 days to "Hop" to 15 "Shops" and we did it in 2!

Our first stop:

Day one--we had only planned on going to a couple of shops and finishing up on Fri and Sat, but K was doing really well and so we decided to go for broke. We got in 7 shops on Wed, took Thurs off because we both had to work and instead of taking Fri and Sat to finish up we were able to finish up on Friday, but only with the help of L's inlaw's GPS. I don't think we would have finished, even on Sat had we not had the GPS. If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one. I think they start around $150 and are worth every cent, espically if your're direction challenged, as I am.

Our second stop and my favorite local quilt shop - The Corn Wagon:

We had a lot of fun seeing all of the quilts and fabrics and everything else that was on display and available. Lots of new ideas swimming around in my head but I decided to jot the ideas down and file them for later because I have several wips going right now that I want to finish up.

A couple more of the shops that we stopped at--tonz o fuuun!

And for those old car/truck buffs--this one's for you--It's a 1958 (I think). It was at one of the shops we stopped at--pretty cool, don't ya think?

Here are a few more quilt blocks that I've been working on...

Blocks 7, 8 and 9

And blocks 10 and 11 of the Star Quilt Along

YIKES!!! I flipped 4 of the sqs on
this one...at least I'm consistant...
Looks like I'll be getting the seam
ripper out...If you squint, you can
still see the star.

Hummm, I'm liking the red and turquoise combo...another idea...

And this one is block 3 of the BOM that I'm working on

I hope that you all have a great week! ;)

Your quilt-a-long blocks are coming along nicely, even with a tish of ripping. I have 10,11,and 12 still to do. I agree...red and turquoise is a great combo!

Hi Karen!

Wow you really did visit a lot in just 2 days - you really are spoiled here for quilt shops. Sigh! I haven't made it to Corn Wagon yet - though I did go to their booth at the quilt fair. Did you go??? Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to you - my MIL just got high speed internet yesterday so I am back in business lol! And hey I liked your idea of mailing packages back to myself. I did A LOT of that when we moved cross country 2 years ago - about 20 boxes in all! I think I will be OK this time since I only bought 3 suitcases instead of the 8 I was allowed. Luckily my MIL has some extras :)

Hi again Karen - just had to tell you that I'm home now BUT I did manage to make it to Corn Wagon in my last week - oh it is wonderful - I love how they have changed it - so much more room now, and I love all their stuff. I dropped a few dollars there, that's for sure lol!!

Thanks for the comment on the finishes, yes it feels very good to have them marked off. Sorry I couldn't just reply but you have your email preferences set at no reply. Can you change that for the bag swap please. Thanks heaps.
